ABORTION
The State of New York has some of the most permissive laws in the country when it comes to abortion access. That is a fact which will not change.
On a national level, the US Supreme Court has ruled that this is a matter to be legislated by the States and not one with regard to which the Federal Government may override State Laws. That decision is good, Constitutionally sound law. The more important an issue may be, the more vital it is to avoid a “one size fits all” National approach.

I am personally committed to working with my colleagues in the New York State Assembly to ensure increased funding for women facing this critical decision in their lives. I will also advocate for increased education for young women in general and particularly for young women in at-risk communities. By doing so, we can make them aware of the scope of resources available to them.
